Modules: small blocks that can displayed in various spots around (and in!) your main content.. how to use them? There are two main ways to create modules, two main ways to use your modules, and many ways to change a page look with their settings. Creation:
Usage:
When editing a module from the Module Manager screen by clicking its name, you can very easily assign or change any of the existing positions. If this position is present in your template, all modules assigned to it and published will be shown in the order they have in the Module Manager screen. Which positions are available to you, and where they are located in the template is very easy to see via the Site => Preview => Inline with Positions menu. Modules can also be loaded into your content items via the { mosLoadModules (positionName) } call, so for example you publish the poll module to position left (and no other module!), and then load it into an article with a poll corresponding to the subject. Settings:
As you can see, modules are very flexible, easy to add/remove/hide, so use them extensively!

| I've been looking for info about custom modules/user modules and wondering if they would be the right technique for adding content to the homepage, specifically static content such as and introduction. Very useful and simple break down of the module options |
